Question: Are there bathrooms?
Answer: No. All paintballs, including those
used to chronograph your gun must be purchased from onsite. Off field
paint is not permitted and anyone using off field paint will be asked to
leave. There are days that BYOP (bring your own paint) will be permited,
please check the calendar of events for the BYOP days. The only
restriction on BYOP days is that no red fill paint will be allowed.
Answer: It all depends on how much you
shoot and whether you are a gun owner or require rental equipment. New
players will generally shoot much less than a more experienced player.
Most renters will shoot between 300-500 paintballs per day.
Answer: Minimum age is 10 years. Players
between the ages of 10-18 must have a signed parental consent waiver
that is downloadable from our website.
Answer: Paintball is one of the safest
sporting activities that you can participate in. Hopperz Paintball
enforces strict safety rules, and those who break those rules are given
warnings or asked to leave. Paintball is one of the safest sports when
the rules are followed. Would you believe that paintball has a lower
injury rate than golf, tennis, and sitting around your house? Well, it's
true.
Answer: There is no simple answer to this
question. Getting hit by a paintball feels like a firm pinch. There are
times when you will not feel the hit and someone has to point out to you
that you were hit. There are also times when you get hit in very tender
spots and you'll feel those more than others. Depending on how baggy
your cloths, and how much padding you wear, the sensation of a paintball
hit will vary. Getting hit on your paint marker or mask is the
most painless way to be taken out of a game.
Answer: It is permissible to bring food
into the Hopperz Paintball site, however, we do not have fridge
facilities so you may want to pack anything perishable into a cooler.
There is water and pop available for purchase at the field.
Answer: For outdoor play, the best advice
is to dress for the conditions. If it's going to be cold, dress warmly.
If it's going to be raining bring extra clothes. If it's going to be hot
and humid, dress lightly. Bring extra clothes and dress in layers
because it's easier to dress up than to scrounge for extra clothing.
Consider bringing dark colored clothing instead of light colored
clothing because the paint will wash out easier. You may want to bring a
baseball cap or a toque. This will reduce the amount of paint spray in
your hair and will reduce the impact of the paintball on your head.
Expect to do a lot of running, so you are encouraged to Wear comfortable
shoes that are suited for movement and support. Avoid heels, platforms,
rubber boots, or sandals as they do not provide adequate support and may
lead to injuries. Keep in mind the conditions, don't wear your spanking'
new runners. You may be running through water and mud, so wear footwear
that you don't mind getting dirty.
Answer: The field limit for all paint
markers on the outdoor field is 280 feet per second (fps). This is
roughly equivalent to 300 kilometers per hour (185mph). All non-rental
paint guns must be checked before playing on the field and
rechecked at random intervals during the day.
Answer: Due to the speed of the paintball,
everyone on the field must ware a certified safety mask. Safety masks
are certified especially for paintball use. They are designed to
withstand the force of a paintball and to protect the players' eyes.
Answer: The outdoor paintball season at
Hopperz starts early in the Spring and ends late in the Fall, (weather
dependant / permitting). The best idea is to check our calendar
page for opening and closing dates.
Answer: Yes, since we are an outside
venue with no permanent buildings our washrooms are in the form of
portable toilets.
